Roosters Reach Out Charity Programs:
The Sydney Roosters are very proud supporters of Mission Australia. Mission Australia and the Sydney Roosters have been working closely together for the past four years. For two of those years the Sydney Roosters players have trained the Mission’s homeless clients to compete in the Annual City to Surf with some amazing results!
We also host an annual BBQ lunch for staff and clients of Mission Australia where the Sydney Roosters players serve lunch and have a great afternoon. This year the Sydney Roosters Office staff will be going out on the beat with the Mission Australia van’s helping those less fortune and giving a helping hand.
In 2013 the Sydney Roosters will be aligning with the McGrath Foundation again to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Nurses . This year the Sydney Roosters will host our first Ladies In League luncheon where it is hoped that ladies in the Sydney Roosters Community can come together and celebrate the achievement of women in Rugby League.
Steggles Charity Nest
The Steggles Charity Nest has been operating since 2002 and is more than a fund raising initiative.
Throughout the year for every point the Roosters win by, Steggles donates $1000 and the Roosters donate $250 to the Steggles Sydney Roosters Charity Nest. Every Under 20s win also contributes $1000, per win.
Following our Round 8 win over Penrith at Allianz Stadium, the Charity Nest total reached the million dollar mark since the joint-initiative began.
The funds raised go towards supporting four children’s charities – Children’s Health Foundation Queensland, Children’s Cancer Institute, Lifestart and the 2013 Charity of Choice the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC).
Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick
The Sydney Roosters regularly visit the Sydney Children's Hospital and are proud supporters of all the different initiatives conducted by the hospital.
