NSW Physical Disability Rugby League

The Sydney Roosters are proud supporters of the NSW Physical Disability Rugby League and the Roosters Physical Disability Rugby League Team.

The inclusive, modified game of Rugby League is for people with all types of different abilities, with the five-round competition starting in May and finishing in September.

Demonstration games including All Stars vs Indigenous during NAIDOC week and City vs Country matches are played in between round games, while in 2021 the code held its first World Cup in England, which ran concurrently with the men's and women's tournaments.

Games are played under modified rules to suit the abilities of the individuals and to maintain their safety - including 20-minute halves with 10-minute intervals.

As per NRL rules, tries are worth four points and goals worth two, while able-bodied players are able to play, with rules and regulations ensuring that a maximum of two can participate per team.

In 2022, the Roosters lifted the Premiership trophy for the very first time in an epic Grand Final victory over South Sydney, and will be looking for further silverware in 2023.
