Roosters In The Community: Freddy tackles bullying
Tuesday 21 May 2013 11:00 AM
The Sydney Roosters visited Rose Bay Secondary School today for their third and final session of the Sydney Roosters anti bullying program, run in partnership with Enough is Enough. The session was attended by, special guest, Brad Fitler and conducted by Enough is Enough founder Ken Marslew.
Enough is Enough, a non for profit charity organisation, was born out of tragedy. Following the murder of university student Michael Marslew, his father, Ken, saw a need for a holistic community approach to reforming society’s attitude toward violence. Sydney Roosters has partnered up with Enough is Enough to roll out the program to both primary and senior schools in the Eastern Suburbs.
The program is about teaching students how to prevent bullying and strategies that reduce victims mentality and increase their ability to bounce back and stand up for their peers.
Ken and Brad were able to talk to the 150 year seven students about their life experiences with bullying and help the students understand the importance of treating others the way they would like to be treated
