The Sydney Roosters Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams have finalized their season preparations last Saturday with their gear presentation. It was a great honor to have Roosters legend Brian Fletcher present the boys their Roosters training and playing gear for the 2013 season and offer some words of wisdom. Fletch is a very passionate Roosters man and he did a great job describing what it means to pull on the famous Roosters jersey.
The competition proper starts this weekend when the boys travel out to Cabramatta Sports Ground to take on the might of the Parramatta Eels. The Eels are a traditional powerhouse in the junior reps, so both teams will be doing well to come away with the 2 points.
The Harold Matthews clash has the defending premiers Eels taking on the bottom placed Roosters from 2012. While the Eels will be a formidable opponent, the young Roosters will certainly match them with enthusiasm and are confident to give their rivals a run for their money.
The SG Ball will again be fancied in this year’s competition and it will be a clash that will excite all league fans. Both teams will have size a pace to burn it will be the team who hits the ground running and controls the ball who will have their nose in front at fulltime. The young Roosters will be led by 2012 Australian Schoolboys Willis Meehan and Bradley Deitz with a dynamic support cast of exciting centre Taane Milne and clever halfback Delayne Ashby, the Eels will have their hands full.
If you have missed your footy come down to Cabramatta Sports Ground this Saturday to watch the future stars of the Roosters bring home the points. Harold Matthews kickoff is 9:30am with the SG Ball kicking off at 11:00am.
Good luck to both teams.
