The Sydney Roosters Holden Cup side fought back from a tough start to beat the Sharks 44-24.

Whilst not the sides best defensive effort the youngsters showed why they are one of the most explosive sides in attack with a host of great solo and team efforts proving too much for Cronulla.

It was a similar story at the start of the first stanza with the Tricolours conceding three early tries to fall behind 14-0.

Showing predictable grit the young Roosters fought back through a great run by Dietz to set up Jake Lewis to crash over between the posts.

Elliot scored the teams second shortly after when he capitalised on a good effort from Hastings to sprint under the posts and put the visitors within two.

Both sides exchanged tries in the second but it was the Roosters who were getting the better of proceedings.

First it was flying winger Goodsell crossing over to put the visitors in front for the first time on the night.

The Sharks hit back to turn the match in to a grind, but four late Tricolours tries sealed the result for the visitors.

A double to Piki Rogers and a brilliant solo effort from Nene Macdonald sent the young boys back to the Eastern Suburbs with plenty of momentum heading in to the Dragons match next week.
