The Sydney Roosters Holden Cup team bravely fought from behind to defeat the Bulldogs 22-12 at ANZ Stadium.
Missing a host of players the young Tricolours defended bravely throughout the contest to grind their way to victory.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring, a swift back line movement seeing the home side slide over out wide to make it 6-0 early on.
Most of the play was then focused around the centre of play before a nifty piece of play leveled the scores.
Captain Alex Thomas exploded out of dummy half creating space for Tyler Cornish who stepped his way past a stunned defender to score under the posts.
Taane Milne scored a second minutes later when he collected a loose ball and wrestled over two defenders from a standing start to grab the lead for the first time.
The Bulldogs then scored just after the break, another smooth back line movement put the home side back in front.
Showing the same kind of determination they have all year the Tricolours then recaptured the lead when Brendan Elliot dived on a lose ball out wide after the ball was spilt from a towering bomb.
Cornish converted from the sideline to extend the lead to four points.
The next period of play would have impressed coach Adam Hartigan, the Tricolours repelled numerous attacking waves defending their way to victory.
It was a huge tackle on a Bulldogs kick return that forced a line drop out with only minutes to go that set up the Roosters winning try.
A great back line movement, including the famous Milne flick pass over the top was finished off by Goodsell to seal the result.
