As rugby league gets set to return for Roosters Fans in 2015, one man relishing the opportunity to kick off his season in the area is James Maloney.

Born and bred on the Central Coast, Maloney will run out onto Central Coast Stadium alongside his Tricolours team mates for the first time this season when they face the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles on Saturday night.

Maloney has enjoyed a lengthy Pre-Season alongside good mate and halves partner Mitchell Pearce in preparation for the new year, including the pair lighting up the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines a fortnight ago at Eden Park.

However as much as the season excites Maloney, the prospect of beginning it all in where it all began is what's on his mind.

“I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to experience living in different places but I always been very proud of where I come from on the Central Coast,” Maloney said.

“I might look like your typical Eastern Suburbs bloke,” he said with a smile before adding, “but the Coast is my home and to have a chance to start our season there is extra special for me.”

The match is the first of five in an annual Pre-Season clash with the Sea Eagles and also the first of two matches to be played at Central Coast Stadium in Season 2015, following the Club's announcement of this year's Round 16 fixture against the Gold Coast Titans making the move.

Another mouth watering prospect for local boy Maloney, who believes the Fans in the area will show the rugby league public how important the game is to them.

“We’ve got another game here this season, when we take on the Titans in Round 16, which I’m sure the area is excited about and we as a group are definitely excited about.”

“It’s a rugby league mad place, I can assure you. They’re going to turn up when we come to town and show just how much they love their NRL.”

We're pumped for it, bring on the footy!
