The Junior Chooks are on the winners list for the first time in Season 2015 after recording a 46-16 win over the Canberra Raiders U20s at Allianz Stadium this afternoon.

The Raiders opened the scoring within sixty seconds of kick-off as former Rooster Chevi Ellis was gifted s beautiful short ball to find himself in the clear ten metres out.

A successful conversion followed seeing the visitors lead 6-0.

It was a while before the scoreboard attendant was called upon again however for good reason with the home side opening their scoring through Joseph Manu out wide.

Not long after and the left edge was again causing the Raiders havoc as a sweeping play to the wing saw Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck score to take back the lead.

Filling in as Captain for the injured Paul Momirovski, the rampaging Vincent Leuluai was leading from the front as Adam Hartigan's side again found a hole in the defence.

Latrell Mitchell burst his way through the Raiders line on the halfway mark and showed what many regard as one of the best in the game in full flight as he made it look easy, racing the field to score.

Not long after and it was new recruit Joey Lussick that had the scoreboard ticking over as he dummied and ducked his way over from the base of the ruck.

That's where it stayed at the half time as the Junior Chooks headed into the sheds with a 20-6 lead.

Like déjà vu the Raiders again found their way over the line within sixty seconds of kick-off with rampaging winger Cameron Booth scoring on the end of impressive hands sending it wide.

Not long after and the try column was ticking over again as Manu was gifted a beautiful short ball ten metres out from the line before showing his impressive footwork to score.

Lussick was again in the thick of the action not long after, dummying his way out of dummy-half before finding Hastings unmarked to race 30m to score under the sticks.

Momentum didn’t shift for the remainder of the match with the home side adding to their total in the final minutes to clinch their first win of the 2015 Holden Cup season in impressive fashion.
