The Roosters have broken their losing streak to down the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium in the Holden Cup.
The Roosters opened the scoring within fifteen minutes through Connor Watson, who finished off some clever back and forth passing between him and Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck.
It was unlike your average Holden Cup game though, with the Tigers striking back over twenty minutes later through Esan Marsters, making it a low scoring and defensive affair for each side. That would be the last of the scoring in the first half as both teams undoubtedly went into the sheds to reassess.
It was the Roosters who came out of the sheds firing, when Joseph Manu barged over the line out of dummy half to open the scoring for the Roosters in the second half.
The Tigers went back-to-back only minutes later through big forward Matthew Lodge, and fullback Jeremy Marshall-King.
The game was starting to feel a lot more like a Holden Cup game when the Roosters got straight back down the Tigers end, and Shaquai Mitchell picked up a loose ball to crash over bringing the scores level.
The Roosters were firing after levelling the scores, and reclaimed the lead soon after when the desperation of Joey Lussick saw him go over for a four-pointer.
The Tigers would score in the final minute through their centre Obed Karwhin, but it would prove nothing more than a score line improvement as the Roosters would go on to win 28-22.
