The Roosters season has ended at Suncorp Stadium tonight, going down to the Broncos 31-12.

The game couldn’t have started any worse for the Roosters, when Shaun Kenny-Dowall threw a long ball to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck only to have it intercepted by Darius Boyd to go over in the opening minute for the Broncos.

The woes would continue in the opening ten minutes, when a kick in-goal from the Broncos was freakishly tapped back to Ben Hunt for the try when it looked certain to go dead.

Hunt would ensure that the Broncos kept the momentum rolling, making the break and throwing a perfect pass inside to Andrew McCullough to make it a 16 point lead.

The momentum would swing back the Roosters way minutes later, when Pearce passed to Tuivasa-Sheck, who then passed to Blake Ferguson to storm over to score the first for the Roosters.

The slow start seemed like a distant memory, with the Roosters running rampant on the Broncos defence.

Ferguson scored his second of the night just minutes later, stepping and barging his way through the Broncos left edge defence.

The Broncos looked threatening every time they had the ball.

The Roosters held on for the most part, until the half time buzzer went off and the Broncos scored in the corner through Corey Oates.

It was a perfect opening set for the Roosters, going the full length of the field on the back of some tremendous go-forward.

Maloney put the kick up, Tuivasa-Sheck took it well, but couldn’t hang onto the ball and a try to Kenny-Dowall was disallowed.

Brisbane would be the next to score through Anthony Milford, pouncing on a kick from Ben Hunt.

Some erratic football by the Roosters would be what gifted Jack Reed a four-pointer, with the game getting away from them quickly.

Milford wanted to make it a sure thing, slotting a field goal from right in front to put it to bed.
