Description -

The Roosters defeated the Newcastle Knights 38-0 on Saturday night in what was a dominant performance.

Blake Ferguson found himself on the back of a near perfect kick to put him over early, but it was ruled he lost the ball on the put-down.

The tide would turn for Ferguson though, scoring the opening try for the Roosters on the back of some nice lead-up work from Mitchell Pearce.

When the Knights were caught offside with fifteen minutes remaining in the half, Jackson Hastings was happy to take the two points to put his side up by more than a converted try.

On the back of some brilliant lead up work, Mitchell Pearce finished off a long range try for the Roosters in what was an impressive opening half for the Tricolours.

It took nearly twenty minutes into the second half before more numbers were posted on the board, and they would come through Isaac Liu after he barged his way through three defenders to plant the ball down.

Blake Ferguson claimed his double in the closing fifteen minutes when a Knights error saw him get a long ball from Ryan Matterson to sprint 30 metres and put it down on the right wing.

In the following set of six, Ferguson bagged a hat-trick on the back of a clever kick from Mitchell Pearce.

Mitchell Aubusson collected a kick from Jake Friend to score in the corner in the dying minutes to make it a massive win at home.
