Description –

In his first season as stand-alone Captain of the Club, Jake Friend was rewarded in a range of different ways after an outstanding 2016 campaign.

Not only was he named the Jack Gibson Medal winner from his Club, but was also selected to play for Mal Meninga's Prime Minister's XIII and Kangaroos squad in the Four Nations.

He made his debut for the Kangaroos against Scotland off the bench, a proud moment for the Club Captain and an exciting prospect for the future of the Australian rugby league side.

Friend started every game of the 2016 season for the Roosters, and as per usual he played with heart everytime he put on the jersey.

At season's end, he had made more tackles than any other player in the NRL with a staggering 1279 tackles made.
