The young Roosters fell flat after a hot start at ANZ Stadium, falling to the Rabbitohs 8-40 in the Holden Cup.

In contrast to last week, the Roosters were red hot to start the first half after Kiah Cooper stormed in on the right edge to open the scoring in the opening two minutes.

They would make it back-to-back tries in the following set of six through Victor Radley, who was in support of a huge run by Zane Blake down the left touch-line.

The Rabbitohs would do well to hit back when the Roosters let a high-ball hit the ground in goal and Beau Dordtz caught it for the put-down.

It wasn’t long before they had the lead after Rabbitohs fullback Dylan O’Connor scored on the left edge on the back of some crafty ball work.

Their lead would continue to grow when winger Tyrone Taukamo found his way over down the left edge and the Roosters would go into the sheds trailing by eight points.

The second half started the same way that the first half ended, with the Rabbitohs in complete control of the match.

They opened their scoring account through Harry Leddy, and it didn’t get any better for the young Roosters.

Three tries later for the Rabbitohs and the young Roosters found themselves unable to overcome a thirty-point deficit.

It was a back-to-back disappointing result for the Roosters, who will be looking to turn things around against the young Sea Eagles next week.
