The Sydney Roosters completed an epic comeback in Golden Point on Saturday night to down the Melbourne Storm 25-24 on Adelaide Oval.
The Roosters looked to go in twice in the opening five minutes, only to be disallowed by the bunker on both occasions.
Joseph Manu was ruled offside on the back of a grubber from Blake Ferguson, then Luke Keary was forced into touch on the back of a near runaway try minutes later.
The line would eventually be crossed by the Roosters though through the veteran Mitchell Aubusson, finding some space out wide and bringing it back between the uprights for the put-down.
After building plenty of pressure over the opening twenty five minutes, the Storm would eventually get a let off with an intercept and runaway try from Josh Addo-Carr.
They would go in again in the following set through Brodie Croft after they found some space out wide and going inside for the four-pointer.
The Storm had all the momentum towards the back-end of the half, but there would be no more scoring in the opening stanza.
The second half would start in favour of the Storm, going over on the left edge through Addo-Carr to collect his double with an acrobatic effort.
Vunivalu would be next to score on the opposite wing as the Storm wingers flexed their muscles to make it a handy lead early in the second half.
The Roosters were struggling with momentum and it would take plenty of time before they finally got things going again.
They would cross again with twenty minutes remaining through Latrell Mitchell after a nice set play, with an inside pass from Daniel Tupou providing the finishing touch.
Jahrome Hughes stormed his way to the line in the closing ten minutes to give the Storm a comfortable twelve point lead.
Mitchell Pearce looked to give the Roosters a glimpse of hope in the closing minutes after firing a bullet pass to send Tupou over, and it looked even better when Michael Gordon converted from the sideline.
With just minutes remaining in the game, a seven tackle set would send the Roosters up-field to bring the game level at the death.
Luke Keary sent Blake Ferguson over with a pin-point chip kick to send him over between the uprights.
Just three minutes into golden point and Mitchell Pearce kicked a tough field goal with little space to work with for the third time this season to steal a win for the Roosters.
