The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Connor Watson will depart the Club at the end of the season to take up an opportunity with another NRL club.

Sydney Roosters Recruitment Manager, Adam Hartigan, said: “Connor has requested an early release with the view of securing an opportunity to play in a starting position at another NRL club, and we have agreed to release him from the final year of his contract with the Roosters at the conclusion of the 2017 season.

“Having come through the Roosters pathway program, Connor has made a significant contribution across all aspects of the Club in his time here, and for that we thank him. We also look forward to Connor continuing to play a key role within our squad for the rest of this season,” he added.

“I’ll always be grateful to the Sydney Roosters for the opportunity they gave me, everything I’ve learned and all the friends I’ve made,” said Watson.

“It’s a really special Club and I’m just really focussed on doing the best job I can for the Roosters for the rest of this season,” he added.
