Pilot Medical Update: Round 5

The Sydney Roosters squad has been assessed following the Club’s Round 5 match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. 

Sam Walker was taken from the field for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) in the 18th minute of the match. After being deemed a Category 1 HIA, he will undergo the NRL’s mandatory 11-day concussion stand-down.

James Tedesco was taken from the field for a HIA in the 23rd minute of the match. After being deemed a Category 1 HIA, he will undergo the NRL’s mandatory 11-day concussion stand-down. 

Following the Round 5 NSW Cup match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Tyler Moriarty suffered a fractured hand, while Salesi Foketi suffered a significant MCL injury.

Both players will visit surgeons in the coming days to assess the best treatment plan, with a return to play to be confirmed at a later date. 

There were no other injury concerns for the other players that featured in the match.
