About the Academy

The Sydney Roosters Academy was established in 2021 and delivers targeted coaching and development programs for players invited to participate in the Club’s Junior Representative (ages 16-19 years) and Junior Development (ages 13-15 years) programs.

With a small local junior Rugby League talent pool, the Sydney Roosters have developed a strong pathways program in which players are identified and brought into the Club’s system to continue their development.

Graduates of this program include three-time Premiership winners Jake Friend and Boyd Cordner, as well as current stars and back-to-back Premiership winners Joseph Manu and Victor Radley.

The key objective of the Sydney Roosters Academy is to identify, nurture and develop the next generation of Sydney Roosters superstars.

Its high-level junior development programs provide regular interaction with Sydney Roosters Academy coaches who coach in alignment with the programs developed by the Club’s NRL Coaching Staff.

With a strong emphasis on development as leaders and role models in their team and community, Academy Members will be held accountable for their actions both on and off the field and will receive education and support to ensure their continued development both as players and individuals.
