The Sydney Roosters are committed to providing our valuable Members with the best match day experience. In particular, we know how important seating is to our Members.

Throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons the Sydney Roosters were required to implement social distancing measures and operate with a dramatically reduced SCG capacity. Members were incredibly supportive and understanding of the necessary changes. While it’s not yet known whether social distancing and other Government guidelines will be in place in 2022, we have developed a Social Distancing Action Plan to ensure we’re prepared in the event that restrictions are still in place.

The plan outlines key information including ticket redemption processes and proposed seating areas for our various membership categories if social distancing guidelines remain in place. The plan is based on feedback from our Members and also draws on experience gained throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The information provided below is applicable to our 2022 NRL Premiership games played at the SCG, excluding the traditional ANZAC Day, which will be hosted by the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2022.

Members are our Priority

Should the NSW Government continue to enforce social distancing measures and venues to operate with reduced capacities:

  • 2022 Sydney Roosters Members will be prioritised over all others to attend home games.
  • 2022 Membership cards and assigned reserved seats will be replaced by complimentary Ticketek tickets with unreserved seats assigned in a specific row in an area comparable to your Membership category. This process will take place in the fortnight before each home game and is the same process that was implemented throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Please note that should the NSW Government impose any access restrictions on specific Local Government Areas or Suburbs, Members and fans residing in those areas will be prohibited from entry to the Sydney Cricket Ground. Note that these changes can be enforced quickly, so please ensure your contact details including email and mobile contact numbers are up to date.

In the instance that social distancing is no longer necessary, Members will revert to using their 2022 Membership cards and assigned seats shown on the rear of their Membership card.

It’s important that current Members continue to renew their reserved seats regardless of any foreseeable social distancing measures, as these will be important when we allocate seats to our redeveloped SFS when it’s completed.

Unfulfilled Matches

In the event that the Sydney Roosters cannot provide Members with access to all of the 2022 SCG home games included in Membership packages, we will apply our Membership Compensation Policy outlined below.

Membership Compensation Policy

In the event that Sydney Roosters home games are either cancelled or played in a venue closed to the public, the following process will apply:

  1. The Club has the right to substitute an alternative Sydney Roosters NRL Premiership match in lieu of a lost match entitlement outlined in Membership packages, and is deemed to be of equal value;
  2. In the event that a substitute Sydney Roosters NRL match is not provided, Members will be presented with the following options:

Pledge
Opportunity to pledge their 2022 membership fee and surrender all unfulfilled match benefits;

Credit
Earn a credit towards a 2023 Sydney Roosters Membership, with the value calculated as follows:

  • (a) An amount of $70 (renewing Members) and $80 (new Members) is deducted the Membership package price. This is to cover costs incurred by the Club, including but not limited to, the Member Pack, postage, mail house and administration.

  • (b) The balance is then divided by the number of match entitlements included in a Membership package for the season, determining a per match value. The number of matches the Club offer to Members by season’s end will be deducted from the balance.

    As an example, a Gold Adult Membership costing $400 for a season and offered six of 10 match inclusions will be calculated as follows:

    $400 minus $70 (renewing Member) = $330, divided by 10 match entitlements = $33 per match. If Gold Members have access to six matches throughout the season they will be eligible for a credit for the 4 matches not provided. 4 x $33 = $132 credit off 2022 Membership.

  • (c) Members that have not paid in full for their 2022 Membership will have any outstanding amounts deducted from any credits due.
