Anthony Minichiello is calling on fans to be a part of what is shaping up to be a Red, White and Blue weekend for Roosters supporters, with the Foundation Cup on Saturday night seeing the boys make their first home appearance of 2013 followed by the clubs Fan Day on Sunday at Waverley Bowls.

The 2013 skipper has spoken to Roosters.com.au about the upcoming match against the Wests Tigers and also the following days fun-filled activities for fans as they have the chance to mingle and meet their heroes before the season gets underway in just two weeks time.

The man they call Mini, who was a part of the sides 20-4 victory over Manly last weekend in Gosford, knows the importance of this weekends fixture and ensuring they continue their good form into the Round 1 blockbuster against the Bunnies on March 7.

We had our first trial last week and the boys had a little bit of time to get back into the swing of things, but this one is a little bit more of a serious trial and were looking to put some combinations together and improve on last weekends performance, he said.

With plenty of new faces in the Tricolours squad for the 2013 season, Minichiello knows the importance of trial games in establishing combinations and getting to know one another out in the middle and not just in the gym or on the training paddock.

Its good to get the new boys out there and work on some combinations. A few of them came in a bit late in the pre-season, so its good to be able to get out in the middle and work on that sort of stuff.

Continuing on, Theyre all working hard, and were all working hard too to get them up to speed as well.

It isnt only a first for the players this weekend when they take to the Allianz turf, with Roosters fans having their first chance to get a look at some of the newer faces in their team this season and Mini is hoping theres plenty of Red, White and Blue in the stands.

Lets hope the fans come out and fill the stands, because it should be a good match against a quality opposition in Wests.

Its always hard to gauge how youre really going from a trial match, especially your first trial, but there were some good signs there last week and some other things that we need to improve on as well so hopefully we can do that this week in the lead up to Saturday night and put on a show for all those that turn out.

To be honest, were all looking forward to getting back on the pitch at Allianz in front of a home crowd for the first time this year.

Although a fence may separate the playing group and the supporters on Saturday night, it will be all in on Sunday from 10.30am at the Sydney Roosters Fan Day when members and supporters will have a chance to mingle and mix with the whole 2013 squad.

Minichiello, who has been a part of days like these his whole life, re-iterated the excitement within the ranks at being able to chat and meet with their loyal supporters.

Im looking forward to being able to interact with fans and seeing all the kids before the season kicks off and hopefully thats another good turn out to follow a big crowd on Saturday night.

The squad love days like these and just being able to relax with the people you play for. We love hearing how much they love the club and sharing that with them, face-to-face, is a nice feeling for all the boys new and old.
