It was a slow start to today with the Squad having the day off, so besides fielding calls all morning from Jared [Waearea-Hargreaves] on whether or not our Dally M outfits were going to clash, I took it pretty easy.

Obviously it's extremely important as an athlete to look after yourself, making rest days just as vital as any, and we all have our own routines.

As I've got older and played more and more, I've learnt the importance of really taking care of your body. I obviously had my back problems for a couple of seasons and so these days for me are hugely imperative in terms of getting through my stretches, resting up and going through that cycle throughout the day.

We're also very fortunate to have massage available these days and so I jumped in the car mid-morning and headed into Roosters HQ for one.

You can't argue when the only thing you're heading into work is a massage, can you?!

After massage I did the rounds upstairs at HQ and checked in with how the staff are going this week. It's a huge week for not only the players of an NRL Club, when you feature in a Grand Final, and I must say that we're very fortunate to have as hard a working group as we do here at Moore Park.

They were all in the office on Sunday morning last week and I don't think I've seen any of them anywhere else other than their desks so far this week, so if they're reading then a huge thank you must go to Brian Canavan and his side of the building and Ted Helliar and his team.

We really are a Club at the Roosters, it's so far from just the 17 guys that take to the field each weekend, and that's something that in 2013 that has really helped us turn this place around.

Brian, Ted and most important Robbo are huge on us being one big family here at the Roosters and it's showed throughout 2013 that this is a place people really want to be.

So, to those working just as hard as the boys are, thank you for your efforts throughout this season as well!

And then for the glitz and glamour... the Dally M Awards!

It's a great night and always has been. I do enjoy chucking the suit on and getting together with players from all over the game, past and present, and their partners and celebrating the season.

Terry, my beautiful wife, as always escorted me down the red carpet and outshone me in front of all the cameras - accompanied also by our unborn baby.

The night was highly enjoyable as well and it was fantastic to see a few of our boys walk away with well deserved prizes.

Jimmy took out the 2013 Top Point-Scorer, which he's worked hard on this season. It sometimes goes un-noticed as to what it takes a goal kicker to be as good as Jimmy and it was great to see him awarded the prize after a stellar season with the boot.

Roger and Boyd both claimed positional awards last night and I couldn't think of two more deserving blokes. For Roger to be named the games best wing is a huge deal for him and fantastic prize for all his effort, but for us this is something he just deserves. I think he's showed this season just how dangerous he can be, just how good a footballer he will be and just how much of alley he is to us at the Roosters.

As for Boyd, well he'll be a leader at the Roosters for years to come and for a 21-year-old kid to out-score Sonny Bill Williams and the numerous other super stars that play in the backrow throughout the NRL, well I think people are now starting to see what we at the Roosters have been fortunate enough to witness for a couple of years now. Just watch this kid go, Roosters Fans.

And, finally, Robbo claiming the Coach of the Year Award is something that I truly enjoyed watching. He's a humble guy, his sole purpose is to build a successful group, Club and to see his players become the best they can be. He's one of the best coaches I've worked with, without a doubt, and after just one season he's managed to turn a team into a Grand Final side after finishing 14th the year before and now to claim this award as well, what can you say.

We all know Robbo, fans and players alike, and he is - above and beyond all the stars - the best signing we made for the 2013 season.

Congrats to Jimmy, Roger, Boyd and Robbo - it's been brilliant working with all four of them all season, plus everyone else in this squad, but let's remember we've still got one award that matters more than them all.

Bring on Sunday!

Speak tomorrow, Roosters Fans..
