The proud young Roosters of indigenous heritage where invited to participate in the Indigenous Acknowledgement of Country in lead-up to the competition commencing.

Following the ceremony, the duo posed for pics with the enthusiastic kids and spoke of the honour the felt at being invited to participate in the event.

“I’m really proud of my Indigenous heritage and I know that Connor is too,” said Latrell Mitchell on the night.

“It means a lot to me and Connor to have been asked to be a part of the Acknowledgement  of Country, and we’re both really happy to be here today representing our heritage and the Roosters,” he added.
