Ahead of our Round 1 clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs this Sunday, Trent Robinson spoke to the media for the first time this season.

He spoke at length about the pre-season and the excitement of the team leading into the first NRL game this year.

There have been a few changes to the team in 2016, but the coach knows that this team is more than capable of getting the job done.

"We've been preparing since November 1," he said about the team preparation.

"We've been very clear about the way that we've trained, and that's for us to prove on Sunday.

"We need to prove on Sunday that we're right to play."

When commenting on the new vibe in the squad, the excitement was evident.

"There's (the feeling) a bit more of an unknown," he said.

"We know how we're going to play, but then pressure adds to that.

"It also adds a bit of excitement."
