The young Roosters pulled off a big win over the Gold Coast Titans in the Holden Cup, scoring a 60-24 win after a clinical first half.

The Titans collected the first points of the morning in the opening two minutes through centre Kody Parsons.

It wouldn’t turn into doom and gloom for the Roosters though when they hit straight back through centre Jarred Anderson after bursting through a hole and stepping the fullback to score between the upright.

Back-to-back tries would come when Lachlan Lam split the defence up the middle and pass inside to Jesse Marschke and send him over.

Zach Bouzounis joined in on the scoring just minutes later when he found a little space up the middle and stormed through to plant it down just wide of the uprights.

The Roosters were not in the mood for slowing down, scoring again in the twentieth minute through big man Ben Thomas after he crashed his way through the defence from ten metres out.

Adam Pompey was the next to score for the young Roosters after collecting a well weighted bomb from Lachlan Lam and putting it down on the right edge.

In the closing stages of the  first half (that’s right, the first half) , Jesse Marschke collected his double on the back end of a well weighted grubber.

Jarred Anderson scored in the final two minutes of the half to give the Roosters a comfortable 38-6 lead.

On the siren the Roosters scored an outrageous try when Adam Pompey tapped back a kick from Lachlan Lam straight into the arms of Kiah Cooper to take a commanding lead heading into the break.

It wouldn’t be until halfway through the second half that we saw points again, with the young Titans scoring through fullback AJ Brimson.

Zach Bouzounis would ensure no comeback was on the way after he finished off a long range effort for his second of the afternoon.

The Titans would return serve through Blake Lenehan, and it wouldn’t be their last of the morning.

Centre Kody Parsons found himself with a double in the closing stages of the half to improve the scoreline late.

To ensure they had the last say, Kiah Cooper went over for his second of the morning and sealed a big win for the young Roosters in their last battle of 2017.
