The Roosters were facing a team without two of their inspirational leaders, with Captain Jake Friend and Cooper Cronk both unavailable for selection. 

While the Panthers were the first to draw blood in the opening minutes of the match, the Roosters weren't deterred for the remainder of the match. 

Back-to-back tries to the Roosters through Sam Verrills and James Tedesco ensured the Roosters would roar their way back into the match. 

Latrell Mitchell opened the second half scoring the extend the lead, while Daniel Tupou would ice it in the end to ensure the Roosters a victory in their final regular season game at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
