Brendan Hall played for the Australian Schoolboys in 1984 before joining the Roosters in 1985. He made his first grade debut in 1985, aged 18, and played eleven seasons straight of first grade. After just a handful of matches from the bench in his first season, Hall established himself as the Roosters first choice five eighth midway through the 1986 season and at just 19 years of age claimed the Roosters Play of the Year Award, despite playing just eight first grade games in the season.

He played a significant role during the Roosters highly successful 1987 season, with Hall playing 25 premiership games as the Club reached the Preliminary Final and the semi-finals of the mid-week cup. He was a popular clubman and finished his career with 225 grade games (a figure only bettered by Kevin Hastings, Barry ‘Bunny’ Reilly, Les Hayes and Bill Mullins at the time of his retirement) and 159 first grade games. He lost his first grade spot in 1995 to Andrew Walker and played just five matches off the bench that season but he continued to serve the Club well and took out the 1995 Reserve Grade Player of the Year Award.
