| The Nellie Doherty Medal was awarded to the player of the State Of Origin series (Women) from 2018 to 2025. It was named after League pioneer Nellie Doherty, who was a major driver to the establishment of the women's game in 1921. In 2026 the Player of the State of Origin series award (Women) was re-named the Katrina Fanning Medal. A 2024 Hall of Fame Inductee, Fanning played 26 test matches for the Jillaroos and was former Captain of NSW. |
