Vice captain Boyd Cordner faces a one-week suspension after being charged with striking by the NRL match review panel this afternoon.

Cordner was charged with striking following a scuffle in Friday nights win over the Eels after Parramatta forward Matt Ryan met the back rower with a shoulder after the whistle had already been blown for a penalty the Roosters way.

Cordner will miss the Warriors clash even with an early guilty plea, but has until midday on Tuesday to decide whether to take his case to the NRL judiciary this Wednesday.

Fellow backrower Sonny Bill Williams was also charged by the match review panel, with the 2013 recruit receiving a grade-one careless high tackle charge.

Williams will accrue just 75 points, or 56 with an early plea, ensuring he will miss no football for the high shot.
