Sydney Roosters have been busy out in the community over the past few weeks, attending a number of fantastic rugby league and events initiatives


PSSA Rugby League Grand Final

On Friday June 28 the PSSA Rugby League grand final took place at Centennial Park. This eight week program involved 350 children from eight Sydney Eastern Suburbs schools competing every Friday afternoon in a rugby league tournament, run by Eastern Suburbs Game Day Development Officers Blake Cavallaro


The program saw Roosters legends Brad Fitler and Luke Ricketson making appearances with current Roosters player Jared Waerea-Hargeaves presenting the participating schools with their trophies and prizes on grand final day. Every child went home with Sydney Roosters water bottles, posters and a big smile.


Sydney Roosters would like to congratulate all participants and the grand final division winners, years 5 and 6 from Double Bay public School, Clovelly Public School and Randwick Public School.


Chris Rileys Youth Off The Streets Launch, South Maroubra

The Sydney Roosters were present at the Official Launch of Chris Rileys Youth off the Streets Outreach Programme at Lexington place, South Maroubra, Saturday 29th June. Sydney Roosters stars Aidan Guerra and Luke ODonnell spent time chatting with the young residents of South Maroubra, signing autographs and were on hand with giveaways for the kids During the morning, Aidan played a pass the ball activity with the young persons and Luke drew the raffle at the end of the day.


Bondi United Fundraiser Event

Junior Leagues Club, Bondi United, hosted a fundraising event at Bondis Beach Road Hotel on June 28 to raise funds for their club players who have suffered serious injuries during the 2013 season. The night involved a silent auction with an array of sport memorabilia on offer including a signed Roosters jersey, money cant buy Roosters experience and signed 2013 Blues Origin jersey as well as a raffle of over 90 prizes. Roosters players Daniel Tupou and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck were on hand to help present the raffle prizes. The night was a huge success with the club raising over $6000.


Norfolk Island Junior League team Down Under

Norfolk Island junior rugby league team U16s team landed in Sydney last week as part of their unique partnership with the Brighton Seagulls Junior League Club. The boys had the opportunity to attend a Roosters training session at Allianz stadium and meet some of the players on Thursday afternoon before heading to Kograh Stadium on Friday night to watch the Roosters in their 36-0 win over the Dragons.


For some of the boys, it was their first trip away from Norfolk Island and the trip was a rare opportunity for them to meet their Australian Rugby League heroes.
