It was nerve racking but the young Tricolours finally defeated the Panthers 36-30 to secure second spot on the NYC ladder.


After a dominant first half effort the young Roosters were leading by four converted tries heading in to the break.


A resilient Panthers were determined to stay in touch and they came close, when they leveled the score with twelve minutes to play.


It took a special effort from Brandon Tago to seal the result for the visitors.

The prop returning from injury, crashed over between the posts carrying four defenders to seal second place for the Roosters.


The Tricolours run in the first four tries of the night as the forwards dominated the battle up front.


It wasn't just in the engine room that the Roosters big boys dominated with the Tricolours forwards running in three of the first four tries for the night.


The home side finally crossed the line in the 33rd minute through Waqa Blake.


Willis Meehan then wrestled his way over for the visitors to further extend the lead.


A late try on the buzzer to the Panthers then seemed to ignite the home side as they came out firing in the second half.


Four tries in the second half, plus the addition had the scores level at 30 points a piece with 12 minutes to play.


It was here that Tago worked his magic to crash over between the posts.


A brilliant scrambling defensive set on their try line including a massive try saving tackle from Tago in the final minute sealed the result for the Tricolours.
