The eighth Arthur Beetson Cup was contested at Leichhardt Oval last Saturday (September 7) with the Sydney Roosters winning a high quality game 46-22 against the Bamain Tigers.

The game was played in unseasonably hot conditions on the day, with temperatures reaching 30 degrees during the match.

Man of the Match on the day was awarded to Clovelly Crocodiles five-eighth Laith Cunneen after a brilliant showing from the young half in guiding the side around the paddock for a strong victory.

Strong performances were also produced in the backs by Jake Jackson, Jarred Smith and Junior Varage while forwards Ngari George, Ian Kwok, James Smith and Jamie Galea were also standouts.

Congratulations to coaches Craig Wright and John Dowall on returning the Arthur Beetson Cup to the Sydney Roosters for 2013.

Tries: Junior Varage 2, Troy Redman, Issac Soper, Jake Jackson, Jarred Smith, Grant McMillan and Toby Lei

Goals: Jake Jackson 5, Grant McMillan 2
