Shaun Kenny-Dowall has undergone surgery after sustaining an undisplaced fracture on the left side of his jaw in the Grand Final, with the man they call 'SKD' having had a plate inserted into his jaw to stabilise the fracture.

SKD suffered the break in approximately the 20th minute of the 2013 decider, playing on for almost an hour after refusing to let Medical and Coaching Staff know until full time.

The injury has unfortunately seen the Kiwi centre ruled out of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup in England and will also see him unable to return to full contact training until the new year.

He will resume light training, including weights and running, in approximately 3-4 weeks.
