Premiership winning lock Boyd Cordner has been selected on the Kangaroos bench for his second Test, with the Roosters Vice-Captain given a final opportunity to audition for the spot vacated by the injured Luke Lewis before the Finals get underway.

Australia will face off with Ireland in Limerick on Saturday in their final Pool A match, before what looks to be a clash with the USA in the opening weeks of the Rugby League World Cup Finals series.

Head Coach Tim Sheens has made seven changes to the side that last round beat Fiji comfortably, including the return of Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk, Sam Thaiday and Greg Bird.

Greg Inglis, Matt Scott and Johnathan Thurston have been rested as a part of Sheens' rotation policy pre the knockout stages.

2013 Clive Churchill Medalist Daly Cherry-Evans will again start in the halves, after impressing at halfback against Fiji, but this time in the No.6 shirt alongside regular halfback Cronk.

Cordner's fellow Rooster Michael Jennings has been named on an extended seven-man bench for the match.
