Just hours after touching down in Townsville for this Saturday’s clash with the Cowboys, our North Queensland and any travelling Members were treated to a poolside mix and mingle with the side at the team hotel last night.

With the full Squad and Head Coach Trent Robinson in attendance, the boys got to know those Members that REPRESENT from afar throughout the NRL Season and local-boy Aidan Guerra spoke to Roosters.com.au about how important these catch-ups with the Roosters most faithful are to the playing group.

“These events are always a good boost for the boys while you away, just to know you’re going have that support in the stands,” Guerra said.

“We see the our Sydney Members quite a bit, so it’s nice to mix and mingle with those that you don’t know as well and don’t get to see as much,” he continued.

“We’ve got a great amount of support all across Australia, especially up here in Queensland, and the passion and support of our Members is something that we love seeing.”

Townsville born and bred, Guerra will this Saturday run out onto 1300 Smile Stadium with not only the Red, White and Blue Army behind him but also his own support group in the form of family and friends.

“This is my hometown, so I always enjoy playing up here. It’s not too hard for me to get motivated for this match, you always want to play well in front of your Mum!” Guerra laughed.

“They’re a vocal crowd up here in Townsville, so the Travelling Chookpen will no doubt have a challenge on their hands but we’re backing them to drown out the locals.. they’re a loud bunch and we love it.”
