The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce that Head Coach Trent Robinson has today extended his contract by a further two years, until the end of the 2017 season.

Robinson, who led the Roosters to Premiership success in his maiden season as an NRL Head Coach in 2013 and qualified for the Preliminary Final in 2014, has also claimed successive Minor Premierships and Club Championships under his tenure. Additionally, the Roosters were also crowned World Club Champions in early 2014.

Roosters Chairman, Nick Politis AM, expressed his delight to have Robinson secured for a further three years.

“Trent is one of the best young coaches in our game and it’s wonderful to have him locked in for at least the next three years,” said Mr Politis AM.

“Not only is Trent an incredibly astute coach, he importantly understands and respects the history of our proud Club and has cultivated a strong culture among the playing group and everyone associated with the Sydney Roosters,” he added.

Robinson said he was pleased to extend his arrangement with the foundation club for the next three years.

“The Sydney Roosters are a special Club and I’m really pleased to extend my time here,” said Robinson.

“The history and tradition, and most importantly, the people associated with the Roosters – from the Board of Directors, players, staff, sponsors and Members – make me feel very proud to continue my role with the Club.

“It’s a privilege to represent the Eastern Suburbs that no one at the Club takes for granted, and there is a committed team here, on and off the field, who will keep working hard to hopefully ensure success for many years to come,” he added.

Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football,
Brian Canavan, acknowledged the impact Robinson has already had on the Club.

“Trent has done an outstanding job with our NRL team and continues to play a vital role in the development of players through our junior grades,” said Canavan.

“He has the respect of the entire playing group, Board of Directors, staff, corporate partners and our Members and it’s wonderful to know that Trent will continue to lead the Roosters campaign in the coming years,” he added.
