Last Monday Anthony Minichiello was invited along to the annual Catholic Primary Schools Sports Awards to present medallions to Sydney’s top young athletes.

Over 30 talented youngsters received awards across an impressive range of sports including league, tennis, fencing, diving and athletics.

To open the ceremony, Anthony Minichiello gave an inspiring speech about his career and how he overcame many challenges to achieve success through hard work, determination, consistency and making the right choices off the field.

The Roosters would like to give a special mention to three young athletes that won the “Outstanding Award”

Patrick Cantion (cross country and athletics)

Ignatius Mitchell (basketball, rugby league, union and athletics)

Jack Waide ( cross country and athletics)

When the ceremony concluded, St Mary’s Star Of The Sea School hall was bustling with awards winners, parents and extended family wanting photographs and autographs with the Roosters legend, and he was more than happy to stay back and mingle with the crowd.
