The Sydney Roosters have extended their condolences following the news of the passing of Mrs Judy Gibson, wife of the late Jack Gibson OAM.

The Gibson family has played an integral role in the Roosters’ proud history since Jack made his top grade debut with Eastern Suburbs in 1953.

Heralded by many as the greatest coach of the modern rugby league era, Jack famously steered Easts to consecutive Premiership titles in 1974 and 1975.

The Gibson name has long-been revered at the Tricolours, with the Sydney Roosters’ most-prized individual honour for Player of the Year named in Jack’s honour.

Over the years, with the support of Mrs Gibson, the Club has been proud to have a representative of the Gibson family present the Jack Gibson Medal. Long may this tradition continue.

The Sydney Roosters extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Judy Gibson at this sad time.
