The Sydney Roosters have been saddened to hear of the passing of former player Brian Johnson.

Player number 810, Brian played 12 games at fullback for Eastern Suburbs in 1986, joining the Club from the St George Dragons where he played 149 games between 1979-1985. He won a Premiership with the Dragons in 1979.

Following his year at Easts, Brian re-joined the Warrington Wolves where he played 103 games (between 1985 and 1987-1988), before assuming the role of Warrington’s head coach, a position he held until 1996.

The Sydney Roosters extend their deepest condolences to Brian’s family and friends at this sad time.
