Ahead of the Roosters Round 7 clash with the Penrith Panthers at Allianz Stadium on Monday night, a few players from the first grade squad spoke to the media.

Captain Jake Friend, Blake Ferguson and Jayden Nikorima spoke about a range of topics, including the upcoming clash with the Panthers.

Now that the Roosters are on the winners list in 2016, Ferguson knows that the team has to trust the process.

"We don't have any excuses," he said.

"We've got a good enough footy team, a good enough roster to win games.

"We just need to understand how to win the games."
