- Gold Coast Titans V Sydney Roosters
- 16 May 2016
- CBUS Super Stadium, Gold Coast, Qld

A tough night at Cbus Super Stadium on Monday night sees the Roosters fall 26-6 to the Gold Coast Titans.

The Titans took early advantage on the back of four straight penalties from the Roosters, electing to take the two points on offer in the opening minutes of the half.

The Roosters locked up the scores after twenty minutes of play on the back of three Titans penalties.

It was an impressive defensive display from the Tricolours, holding out the Titans on several occasions throughout the first half.

In the back-end of the half, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves gifted Latrell Mitchell a golden offload for him to sprint and step his way passed the Titans defence and score a brilliant solo try.

The Titans snatched the lead just shy of the buzzer to finish the half in exciting fashion.

It was a back-and-forth scrappy tussle up until the 60th minute, and the Titans would pick up plenty of momentum in the closing quarter.

Their first try came through David Mead after the Titans found an overlap to put the speedster over in the corner.

A well weighted kick set up the Titans next try and Chris McQueen was there to pounce on the loose ball.

William Zillman was there to make it official with the final try of the night, scoring just wide of the uprights to put his side up by more than three converted tries.
