After an impressive pre-season training with the Roosters first grade squad, Connor Watson's 2016 campaign began with a bang as the young-gun had plenty of people talking with his form playing in the Holden Cup.

Watson found himself playing for the Wyong Roos in the early stages of the season, and before he knew it he was making his first grade debut.

His first game in the NRL came in Round 7, and he looked promising coming off the bench for the Roosters.

For the first time in the season, Connor Watson was promoted to the starting line-up in Round 19 at five-eighth, recording a try assist and a try.

He finished the season strong for the Roosters and looks set to have another big year in 2017 under the watchful eye of Head Coach Trent Robinson.
