Roosters Legends 7’s on the Central Coast

Morry Breen Oval was the perfect venue for the Roosters Legends 7’s held last Wednesday.

38 teams took part across three divisions and stakes were high as the first place prize was a spot in the State Finals.

The Jillaroo Cup

Gwandalan Primary School took out first place in the Jillaroo cup.

They were the dominant force and had only one try scored against them through the whole day.

12 teams started the day, but it was Tuggerah Primary School who made it into the finals to face Gwandalan.

It was a huge challenge for Tuggerah who were getting their first taste of finals football.

Gwandalan proved too strong, but Tuggerah remained competitive until the final whistle and did themselves proud.

Anthony Minichiello Cup

12 teams battled it out in the Anthony Minichiello Cup and the final saw Wamberal Primary School against Terrigal Primary School.

It was a close game with scores finishing level on the final whistle.

Neither side could break their opponents defence during extra time but Terrigal were crowned the winners having scored the first try.

Mark O’Meley Cup

The day started with 15 teams all with high hopes of making the State Championships, but there could only be one winner.

Gwandalan Primary defeated Gosford East 10-6 in the finals to go through to the State Championships.

Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello presented the winning teams with their trophies and medals.

He congratulated the teams on their efforts end sportsmanship.

Everyone that took part went home with Minichiello's autograph and plenty of Roosters giveaways
