It's a Sport-A-Thon!

It was a day of fun and games when the Sydney Roosters were invited to the annual Rose Bay Public School Sport-a-thon.

The annual Sport-a-thon is an opportunity for students to not only participate in fitness and healthy lifestyle activities, but also raise funds for the school’s technology program.

Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello alongside players Simaima Taufa, Kurt Baptiste, and Paul Momirovski were on hand to officially open the day and get involved in the fun.

The day consisted of thirteen different activities including ball passing, obstacle courses, cricket, skipping, and yoga.

The Roosters were only too happy to help out and play along!

Every year the Sport-a-thon brings the wider community together, as parents, students, teachers and friends of the school become actively involved in the day.

Rose Bay Public School Principal Gai O'Neill said the event is a major highlight on the school calendar.

“The Sport-a-thon is a fabulous event that brings our school community together in a fun and active way.

"It highlights the strong partnerships we have with our parents and sporting organisations.

“It was great to have the Roosters supporting this event.”

All 630 students were involved in the day and were encouraged to dress as their favourite sports star or in their favourite sporting team’s jersey.

It was great to see lots of Roosters jerseys being worn on the day!

Anthony Minichiello said the Roosters enjoy getting involved with school activities.

“The day was high energy and a lot of fun, it’s great to see the kids getting excited and playing with teamwork.”

“It’s also important to encourage the kids into a healthy and active lifestyle."

The Sydney Roosters would like to thank everyone at Rose Bay Public School for invitation to their great day!
