Historic Kangaroos-Tonga Test sold out

The first ever Test match between the Australian Kangaroos and Mate Ma’a Tonga will be played in a sold-out Mt Smart Stadium this Saturday, October 20.

The NRL has announced that following a final release of tickets this week, the match had sold out this morning.

“The level of interest in this game has been staggering so it will be great to see the house full sign up outside Mt Smart Stadium this Saturday,” NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said.

“Many people worked very hard to make this game a reality and the result will be no doubt a real highlight for the international game and for the game overall.”

The NRL also acknowledged the support of Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) who have been partners in the Test match.

ATEED GM Destination Steve Armitage said: “The staunch support of the Tongan community in Auckland has been incredible and we will no doubt see that highlighted again on Saturday at Mt Smart Stadium.”

Tonga fans are reminded there will be an opportunity to meet the team today (Wednesday, 17 October) at Mt Smart Stadium between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
