The Sydney Roosters are set for a rivalry battle on historic soil TONIGHT to kick off the NRL season when they take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Here's what you need to know ahead of kick off!

MILESTONES

There three significant milestones tonight, with Captain Boyd Cornder (150), Cooper Cronk (350) and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (200) celerate significant milestones tonight!

PRE-MATCH

Members and fans are advised to arrive early to the Sydney Cricket Ground to find their seats and enjoy the pre-match entertainment.

There will be a special presentation on field ahead of kick off that will feature all three Club trophies from 2018 and 2019 respectively.

This will include the JJ Giltinan Shield, the Premiership trophy and the World Club Challenge Cup. 

The presentation will include Roosters legends Anthony Minichiello, Ryan Cross, Russell Fairfax and more to be confirmed.

MEMBERSHIP

2019 MEMBER CAP, SCARF OR BEANIE COLLECTION POINT

Don’t forget to bring your redemption voucher to collect your 2019 Member cap, scarf or beanie.

Collections will be available from a marquee located on the forecourt on the opposite side of Driver Avenue from the SCG.

To assist staff, please have your redemption card ready along with your choice of either the cap, scarf or beanie and we encourage you to arrive early to avoid queues.

REFLEX WALL

Test yourself on the Reflex Wall outside Gate E prior to the game and go in to the running to win a 2019 Sydney Roosters membership thanks to our Membership Partner Relfex

MEMBERSHIP SALES MARQUEE

Staff will be available on the forecourt opposite the SCG for last minute Membership sales.

Bring your Roosters supporting friends and family that have yet to sign up to the marquee to get them signed up for the season.

To avoid match day queues, we encourage new Members to join online before Friday and an e-ticket will be emailed to you for Friday’s game (for Ticketed Membership packages).

ROOSTERS MEMBER BAR

Roosters Members are invited for a pre-match catch up at our exclusive SCG Matchday Members Bar.

The bar is located in the O’Reilly Stand, with entry from the Victor Trumper Stand concourse.

Members will be required to show their card to gain entry.

TICKETS

Round 1 is upon us for another year and with that comes the return of the Steggles Family Pass.

When tickets are pre-purchased, the Steggles Family Pass allows two adults and two children to the Round 1 clash with the Rabbitohs for just $60.

HALF TIME

Our Nipper Clubs Bondi and Clovelly will be participating in a half time relay race.

The winning team will be awarded with official Roosters merchandise.

Scott Cam will be on field at half time looking for the most visable fan for the Bisley WorkWear Make Yourself Visable competition to win a 2019 Roosters jersey.

A new addition to the half time show will be MuscleCam, presented by MusclePharm.

They'll be looking for the best flex in the SCG.

There are several Merchandise marquees located throughout the SCG. 

The map below shows where all marquees and vans will be located in Round 1.

TRANSPORT

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The easiest way to access the SCG and Allianz Stadium is by public transport.

Moore Park is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride from Central Station and fans are encouraged to arrive early, allowing plenty of time to enter the venue and find your seat.

Please note that special event buses (Route 1) no longer run from Chalmers Street at Central Station.

PARKING

Parking in the Moore Park precinct is available under the current provisions.

EP2 and EP3 - Public parking on event days only ($25 fee per car).

Entry to EP2 (Kippax) and EP3 (Showground) via Driver Avenue.

Driver Avenue: The centre portion of Driver Avenue is closed for larger events.

Access to EP2 is from Moore Park Road and the Eastern Distributor in the north and EP3 via Lang Road and Anzac Parade in the south.

Entertainment Quarter

Public parking (fees apply). Entry to the Entertainment Quarter parking via Lang Road.

Sydney Boys High School

Public parking for selected events only (fees apply). Entry to Sydney Boys High School via Cleveland Street.

Sydney Girls High School

Public parking for selected events only (fees apply).

Entry to Sydney Girls High School via Anzac Parade and Cleveland Street.

Important note

  • Parking payments for all facilities controlled by the SCGT are via debit/credit cards only, no cash.
  • Parking at all sites is limited and Special Event Clearways may be in force for surrounding areas.
  • All car parks have areas reserved for patrons with disabilities.

TAXI/HIRE CAR/UBER

There are permanent taxi ranks located in the Entertainment Quarter on Errol Flynn Boulevard (opposite the Hordern Pavilion and another on Moore Park Road opposite the Olympic Hotel.

At present there are no designated Uber or Hire Car zones in the precinct.

CYCLE WAYS

Moore Park, Centennial Park and the surrounding areas boast some of the most picturesque cycleways in Sydney and is one of the most cycle-friendly public spaces in the city.

Cyclists will find many bike racks in convenient locations along Driver Avenue in Moore Park and all pathways in Moore Park are shared footpath/cycleways.

WALKING

Take a leaf out of the SCGT's many sporting codes' playbook and get fit on the way to their games.

The precinct is easily accessible via the Tibby Cotter Walkway which delivers patrons from Moore Park west to the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust precinct.
