Stone, a former Head Coach of the Newcastle Knights, Huddersfield Giants (Super League) and Fiji Bati National Team, is the Head Coach of the Country Rugby League (CRL) Newcastle Women’s team currently competing in the Harvey Norman NSWRL Women’s Premiership.

“It’s exciting to see the rapid rate at which Women’s rugby league is evolving,” said Stone.

“The NRLW provides a genuine pathway to elite competition for players, and I’m pleased to assume the role of Head Coach for the Sydney Roosters NRL Women’s side.

“This is a new challenge for me and I’m really looking forward to being involved with the team at the Roosters,” he added.

Stone will replace former coach Adam Hartigan, who stood down earlier in the year to focus on his full-time role as the Roosters Football & Recruitment Manager.

“The inaugural season of the NRLW Premiership was a wonderful success. We are looking forward to building on that this year, and are pleased to welcome Rick to the role of NRLW Head Coach,” said Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly.
