With the final stretch of the season on the horizon for the Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg squad ahead of the upcoming finals series, let's take a look at where they sit heading into crunch time.
The Roosters Under 20s have won four of their last five games heading into their final bye of their 2019 campaign and are sitting second on the Jersey Flegg ladder.
They're just three competition points behind the Cronulla Sharks, who they will face once more before the season is up.
Led by coach Anthony Barnes who has been coaching the side since their 2016 Holden Cup winning season, the Roosters have a nail-biting run home with just four competition points between them and the 8th placed St. George Illawarra Dragons.
Their defence is currently the best in the competition and they'll be looking to keep that going heading into the back end of the season.
"We've got to be on our toes for the rest of the season if we want to stay in good position heading into the finals," said Anthony Barnes.
"There's some good competition coming up for us in the home stretch.
"We might be coming second, but if we fall short over the next few weeks we could come close to dropping out of the eight all-together.
"We've got a good group of guys that work hard, defend hard and they'll look to keep playing good footy."
Let's take a look at how this young squad is stacking up over the 17 rounds of the competition so far.
