James Tedesco Nominated For Ken Stephen Medal

James Tedesco has been nominated by the Sydney Roosters for the 2019 Ken Stephen Medal.

The 2019 Ken Stephen Medallist will be announced during Grand Final week, with voting now open on NRL.com, providing fans the opportunity to select a nominee they feel deserves to be a finalist.

The player with the highest number of votes will be included as one of four finalists announced next month.

Tedesco has a relationship with headspace, a National Youth Mental Health Foundation, since his participation in their Head Coach campaign in 2018.

Headspace provide mental health services to young Australian men and women aged 12 to 25.

In the 2-minute video, he speaks candidly about his experiences of moving to a new Club, and comments on the benefits of keeping positive friends and family close by.

He displays a level of vulnerability that you don’t see in young men and professional athletes very often.

He is also a Patron for the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation committed to making life easier for children with cancer.

Since joining the Foundation in 2018, he has provided support in the form of personally attending events, donating signed merchandise and using his social media profile to generate awareness of the Foundation by placing a permanent link to the sportingchance.com.au.
