Last Time We Met The Raiders

The Last Time We Met the Canberra Raiders was in the NRL's inaugural Magic Round in Round 9, where the Roosters would be gifted the task of holding off the fast finishing Raiders at Suncorp Stadium.

Last Time We Met The Raiders

The Roosters started the match on fire, scoring back-to-back tries in the opening minutes through Matt Ikuvalu and Cooper Cronk.

Both tries were set up by James Tedesco, and that wouldn't be the last of his scoring dominance in the match.

After Sitili Tupouniua set-up James Tedesco to put the Roosters up by 30-6 in the early stages in the first half, the game looked all but over for the Raiders.

They had other plans though and went on to score three unanswered tries through Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Jack Wighton and Michael Olfield to put themselves right in the contest with ten minutes still to play.

It took a gutsy effort from the Roosters who lost three players throughout the match due to injury, but they walked away from Suncorp Stadium with a narrow 30-24 win over a gutsy Raiders side.
