The Sydney Roosters in conjunction with sponsor KARI will be delivering healthy relationships program LOVE BiTES and LOVE BiTES Junior in Secondary Schools starting in Term 3 this year.

The first LOVE BiTES session was delivered at Rose Bay Secondary College recently, which saw a group of eager year 10 students participate in the workshops promoting healthy relationships.

Aimed at lower secondary students, LOVE BiTES Junior is a Respectful Relationships Education Program that focuses on the development of respectful relationships for 11-14 year olds.

Developed by NAPCAN, 3 programs are delivered under LOVE BiTES Junior including #friends (Year 7), Respectful Relationships, Bullying and Gender (Year 8) and Relationships, Love and Control (Year 9).

For students aged 15 to 17 years, the LOVE BiTES program consists of two interactive workshops: one on Relationship Violence, and one on Sex and Relationships, followed by creative workshops and community campaigns.

The programs emphasize the importance of a whole-of-school commitment to respectful relationship education.

It also equips young people with the knowledge needed to have respectful relationships, encourage and develop their skills in critical thinking and assist them in being able to problem solve and communicate effectively.

The program was endorsed by NRLW Player Zahara Temara, who attended the first session at Rose Bay to provide her support to KARI and the students taking part in the program.

“It is great to see the support that our sponsor KARI are providing to students through this program,” said Temara.

“I am so glad we are in the position to support this program, and I only wish we had a similar program when I was at school. ”

KARI and the Sydney Roosters are looking forward to deliver LOVE BiTES and LOVE BiTES Junior to the entire year 10 and 7 year groups at Rose Bay Secondary College for the remainder of Term 3 and 4.
