2010

The 2010 NRL season was an extremely memorable year for Sydney Roosters Members and fans alike, and it was most definitely for the right reasons.

After a disappointing campaign in 2009 that saw the Club claim the dreaded wooden spoon, 2010 was looking like a new start with a large number of key personnel changes.

Brian Smith was named as the new head coach of the Club alongside a number of new recruits, including five-eighth Todd Carney who was making his return to the NRL.

It was unclear what fans could expect from their new look Sydney Roosters side, but they would soon find out.

They were sizzling hot in their first match of the season, downing their arch-rivals South Sydney Rabbitohs 36-10 on their home turf.

Mitchell Pearce was outstanding at halfback, while new recruit Todd Carney kicked off his Dally M winning season in electric form.

The Sydney Roosters were 2-0 to kick off their 2010 campaign, with wins over the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers.
